Play for the Sons 2 – Be A Son For The Day

The Sons Supporters Trust are again giving Dumbarton fans the chance to ‘live the dream’ while helping out Dumbarton Football Club at the same time.

On 8th July 2017 two teams – one home and one away – made up of enthusiastic Sons fans will kick-off a match that will be played on the (hallowed) pitch at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.

There will be two teams with 15 players per team (1-11 and four substitutes).

Each shirt will be available to bid on in a blind auction of which all proceeds will be donated to Dumbarton FC via the Sons Supporters Trust.

If you aren’t up to playing 90 minutes there will also be a place in each team as an assistant manager where you can team up with Sons celebrities in running one of the teams.

The day will consist of:

* The Dumbarton FC Match Day Experience – Playing the game on the pitch at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium
* Wearing a unique team strip which you will also get to keep after the game.
* Teams managed by Sons celebrities – both to be confirmed and announced
* All players will receive participation medal.
* Food and refreshments post match.

In the e-mail you must declare which team you are bidding to be in (home or away) and which shirt number for that team you are bidding on. We will also need your FULL contact details – postal address, post code, mobile telephone number, etc.

The positions available are as follows:

Starters
Home/Away– Shirt 1 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 2 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 3 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 4 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 5 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 6 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 7 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 8 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 9 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 10 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 11 – minimum bid £100 – £250 secures place
Substitutes
Home/Away – Shirt 12 – minimum bid £75 – £150 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 14 – minimum bid £75 – £150 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 15 – minimum bid £75 – £150 secures place
Home/Away – Shirt 16 – minimum bid £75 – £150 secures place
Coaches
Home – assistant manager – bid of £100 secures post
Away – assistant manager – bid of £100 secures pots

The rules are as follows:
1. This will be a blind auction. This means that if you’re bidding you are required to submit your single best bid (minimum bid is £100). The winner will be the person with the highest unique bid on each item come the deadline.
2. A bid of £250 automatically secures your place.
3. A bid of £100 secures your place as asst manager for one of the teams (please indicate in your bid that your are wanting to have this slot).
4. Substitute prices are bids of £75 minimum with £150 securing your place.
5. Bidding is now open (from Fri 5th May 2017) and will close at 5:00pm on Friday June 9th 2017
6. You must be 18 years of age or over to both bid and take part in ‘Be a Son for a Day’.
7. By bidding in the auction you are declaring that you (or the person you are bidding for) are fit and well to take part in this event.
8. In the instance of getting two identical bids for the same shirt number in the same team, the e-mail that has the earliest date and time stamp will be accepted as the leading bidder.
9. All winning bidders will be contacted shortly after the auction closes.
10. Payment must be made by no later than 2:00pm on Monday 12th June 2017. In the case of non payment by the closing date the shirt will be offered to the next highest bidder for that particular shirt.
11. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or via Paypal – details to be confirmed.

We are aiming to raise a substantial amount of money for the club and we will have details of the full day’s events as soon as we possibly can, including news of a cracking social event on the evening of the 8th July.
