We are delighted to announce that the Sons Supporters Trust are now proud sponsors of the Sons Archive Website.

The archive website is an ongoing project, run by Dumbarton supporters (who happen to be Sonstrust members), which records DFC’s long and illustrious history.

And who better to look after a football’s club’s history records than the folk who matter most – the fans!

The site was set up is 2013 by Niall Harkiss, who is a designer of heritage sites and has completed similar projects at Dundee Utd and Ross County.

Niall’s dad, Jim, is a long-time Sons fan and via his company Metalwork UK has been involved with sponsorship at DFC and at one time helped the Sonstrust travel section.

Although Niall is a Dundee United fan, he has, thanks to his father, a soft spot for Dumbarton.

He said : “The Sons archive is built on a MySQL database platform using PHP pages to display countless pages of statistics, detailing every major competitive match played by the Sons, and pages for every player to have tread on grass in competitive action.”

David Kemp who is a major contributor to the site added: “We have a good bit of work to do before all the gaps are complete but it’s been an enjoyable and very interesting project so far.

“And if any Sons fan can help please get in touch.”

Contact us via secy@sonstrust.net and we’ll forward on details to the Archive team.
