Fans Pay Respect

January 23, 2016

Gilbert2SONS fans, and football supporters across the game, are among the hundreds of people paying tribute to Dumbarton FC chief executive, Gilbert Lawrie, who passed away this past week.

Gilbert’s death was a surprise and blow to all associated with the club. He was a ‘football man’ and a Sons fan from tip-to-toe, and was also known, recognised and liked across the game.

Among those sending messages of condolence were the newly-formed Scottish Football Supporters Association (which has two Sons supporters on its board), the Scottish Fans blog, other clubs and many ordinary fans.

The messages are hugely appreciated by the Sonstrust and the club.

There will be a minute’s applause to remember Gilbert at the Raith Rovers game in Kirkcaldy today, as well as memorials at the home game next Saturday.
