Derek Crockett – RIP

February 27, 2015

DFCscarvesWE are sorry to report that Derek Crockett, a well-known and well-liked long time Dumbarton fan, has died after a lengthy struggle with cancer.

Everyone connected with the the trust and the club sends condolences and warmest wishes to Derek’s family and friends.

He was a regular season-ticket holder, a trust member and a travelling supporter: one of many loyal fans who make this club what it is.

Fellow fan Tim Rhead remembers: “I first met Derek some 35 years ago, and then we reconnected more recently.

“He worked in insurance and was involved in valuable work at a Community Housing Action Group in Castlehill a few years ago when I encountered him again.”

Derek Crockett was a stalwart member of the ‘back row’ at the Rock, cheering on the Sons whenever he could, even when ill health set in.

Please feel free to add comments or tributes below.

We will miss you Derek!

Update: Derek’s funeral will take place at 3.15pm on Wednesday 4th March 2015 at Cardross Crematorium.
