Sons Fans Pay Tribute to Kirsty

September 24, 2014

KirstyTributeTHIS afternoon Dumbarton supporters remember with gratitude and a real sense of loss one of their own, as we join the family and friends of Kirsty Mackie on the sad occasion of her funeral in Cardross.

On Saturday 20th September fans today showed their heartfelt respect to the memory of Kirsty with a minute’s applause just after the start of the away game against Falkirk.

Players also joined in the remembrance by wearing a black armband each to mark the occasion.

Kirsty will also be honoured in the the coming edition of our club’s matchday  programme (for the game versus Alloa Athletic on Saturday 27th September), Sons View, which is produced for Dumbarton FC by the Sonstrust.

Thanks to Andy Scott for his photograph.

A good turn out of sons fans today to say farewell to Kirsty, all wearing the colours of the club she loved. Manager Ian Murray, Captain Andy Graham, players Garry Fleming & Shay Grindlay along with chairman Alan Jardine, Les Hope and Chief Exec Gilbert Lawrie all came along to pay their respects.
