Help Needed!

December 23, 2012

The Sonstrust needs YOUR help!

As you will have seen from our last two postings here, we are again attempting to run supporters buses to the next two away Sons matches at Falkirk and Greenock Morton.

The trust travel section has been a major success in helping Dumbarton fans get to away games are a very reasonable cost and with the club sitting in its highest league position for 17 years it’s disappointing that we’ve seen a decline in bookings this season.

This downturn has given membership secretary Tommy Hughes a bit of a headache.

He said ; “We are quite literally now struggling to justify running the supporters buses after 6 years of success in this area of the trust’s work.

“I can understand fans being a wee bit jaded after the start to the season for the team, but they are playing in the second tier of Scottish football and we have to be pleased that at least we are in division one.

“The buses to Falkirk on the 29th and to Morton on 2nd January look like they won’t be running as I cannot justify the expense to the trust board.

“So we need members help in promoting the service we provide, especially for the next two buses to matches that are going to be very important to how the season pans out.”

Are you thinking of going along to both games? Then why not take the fans bus? Booking details can be found elsewhere on this website (previous articles before the Meet the Manager story) or you can give Tommy a call on 07719771341 or drop an e-mail to memsecy@sonstrust.net
