The DumBAR Challenge

July 22, 2012

20120722-154842.jpg THE Trust Board are looking for a few volunteers to help with The DumBAR Challenge in the season ahead.

The Challenge is part of the Trust’s fundraising effort in support of DFC’s youth development initiative.

What we need are members to come forward to help with selling of the entry tickets on a match by match basis. If YOU can help, please leave a comment on this post (with contact details) or send an e mail to

Our aim is to raise over £1000 from the 20 home games that are so far in the fixture list, starting with this coming weekend’s Ramsdens Cup clash against Queen of the South.

It’s a modest target and we know that Sons fans alongside our opponents on the day will rally round and take part.

The DumBAR Challenge is a chance for supporters to show off their footballing skills by trying to hit the crossbar of the goal frame from a designated distance during the half-time break in home matches at the Bet Butler Stadium.

Pictured with the T-shirt that all competitors will receive is Trust Board member Andy Scott who proved that the Challenge CAN be done as his first attempt in practice struck the bar, clean as a whistle!

So, how can you enter the competition? Easy. On entry to the Bet Butler Stadium on matchdays, purchase a £1 ticket and six supporters will be drawn out from the hat to take part in the Challenge. And as noted above every on field participant will take home an exclusive t-shirt.

And if you do manage to hit the crossbar, a special prize awaits.

Come on, support our Sons!
