ANTICIPATION is growing for the veritable ‘Sonsfest’ that will be Saturday 4th June – starting with the first-ever supporters’ match in official Dumbarton colours at 2pm, and continuing with the ‘Stand Up for the Sons’ comedy night in the evening.

A special souvenir programme, priced only £1, will be available for the ‘Play for the Sons’ game, where the gold ‘home’ team and the white ‘away’ side will take to the field wearing the classic 2010-11 DFC first-team strips.

“One thing we can be sure of is that Dumbarton is bound to win – both on the pitch, and as a result of the significant sum of money this game will raise,” said commercial director Alan Findlay. “We’re hoping for good weather and some decent, vocal support from the stand, too!”

While the game will undoubtedly be played in a good spirit, the organisers are making sure that the event will be safe as well as entertaining, with expert physio and First Aid help on hand, just in case.

In the evening, those who have tickets for ‘Stand Up for the Sons’ are encouraged to arrive around 7.15pm to help get everyone seated. Some 300 people have signed up for another sell-out event organised by the Sonstrust.
