Well, that’s it. Season over and it ended badly – humiliated by a team that finished bottom of the league plunging into division 3.

Yesterday’s game summed up the campaign which started poorly, had a decent middle and in the end went back to the beginning (you know what we mean!).

But finishing sixth is something that most Sons fans would have settled for when the season’s first ball was kicked in the summer of 2009, given that the Club were facing a new, higher challenge resulting from winning the third division title.

The scenes at the end of the Clyde game indicate that some of the current squad will be moving on ; and stories that swept the Broadwood stand yesterday, emanating from various sources, suggest that all is not well within the camp.

Of course, not all the tales will be true, but nonetheless it looks like Jim Chapman has a tough period ahead of him as he starts the process of building on the foundation laid in the last nine months.

DFC (we) came to the second division on a wave of optimism not seen at Strathclyde Homes Stadium for many years and we hope that emotion has not been diluted too much as the summer looms and our scarves are put away away for a few weeks.

Behind the scenes things continue as normal and as we’ve mentioned countless times before, you still play an important part.   New season tickets, which the trust are responsible for managing, need to be bought and amongst other things, keeping the ‘faith’ is just as important.

Your support of the Club is precious and vital, make no mistake about that.

Come on you Sons!
