GETTING back to the theme of good governance, it is pleasing to note how things are progressing at Scarborogh Athletic FC.

The Yorkshire club is a wholly owned supporters trust club and their efforts have to be applauded.
They have just published the latest set of income and expenditure figures, to their website, for EVERYONE to see. This is refeshing. Openness and transparency and more importantly perhaps, a willingness to communicate. – click on the link to see the excellent work being carried out at this club.

Communication is key to any business model ; in fact, it’s crucial and to see what Scarborough are doing is very heartening.

In other news, we’d like to congratulate Stenhousemuir FC in achieving the transfer of their previous limited company status to that of a Community Interest Company (CIC) – truly the way forward for Scottish clubs.

More on how CIC’s work at a later date.

I’ve just read through the SAFC website and I must say that their openness is refreshing. The detail they publish also highlights the real struggle it must be running a football club. At least they’l know that no-one from within will steal their club.
