Trust sponsor their first match of the season

Trust sponsor their first match of the season

SONSTRUST members Ian McEwan, Ross, Black, David Ferguson, Stephen Haining and Gary Black joined Chairman Brian Payne for hospitality at today’s match with Stenhousemuir.

As match sponsors – the trust takes two games per season – the lads enjoyed one of the finest hospitality experiences in Scottish football with everyone reporting that a good time was had by all.

Ian McEwan, who famously bid to be Sons gaffer for the day last season at Annan said : “It was a great day out. A big thanks go to our director Alan Findlay and everyone connected with what was a brilliant experience.

“The food and company was first class and although on the pitch we didn’t get the win, it didn’t spoil the day.”

Member Stephen Haining echoed Ian’s views. He said :  “This was the first time I’ve been in for hospitality at the club and I have to say it was brilliant. Getting into the boardroom and seeing how things work behind the scenes was an eye opener.

“We have a fantastic set-up at Dumbarton and the hard work put in by the trust really shows.”

Sons vice-chairman Colin Hosie acknowledged the contribution of the trust in his lunch speech and gave a special mention to SonsTV guru Gary Black for the excellent work that has gone into the new facility.

I would also like to add my thanks to Brian and Alan and everyone at the club for a very enjoyable day. Food was top notch and it was a very different experience of a Sons game (a good one at that!)

    Once again, thank you!
