The Trust Crew on the original Walk to the Rock

The Trust Crew on the original Walk to the Rock

THE trust had planned the announcement of a major event before today’s game with Elgin City – only for the weather to put paid to the plans.

However, we have the details online, and the big news is…remember May 1, 2004?

When Sons beat Morton 3-0?

When we did the fantastic Walk to the Rock from the Erskine Bridge with the Morton fans before the match?

Well…we’re doing the walk again – this time from the other side and on our own!

The Walk to the Rock 2009 will take place on Saturday, April 25, leaving Loch Lomond Shores in Balloch at 9am and walking to the Strathclyde Homes Stadium for Sons’ clash with Forfar Athletic.

The walk will again be sponsored, with proceeds split between Sons’ Youth Development Initiative and a local good cause(s) – which ones will be decided nearer the time. Sponsor forms will be available from Saturday, March 7, when Sons play Albion Rovers at home.

The Young Sons will join the walk at Tontine Park playing fields in Renton at approximately 11am.

Please keep checking the trust website for more details of what should be another fantastic day. We’ll be screening the DVD of the previous walk on the big screen in the supporters’ bar before the Stenhousemuir game on Saturday, January 17.

Meanwhile, if you wish to register interest in taking part, please leave a comment below.

Yep, I’m definitely up for this – I’ll double-check my diary when I get back from my Christmas travels. Seasons greetings, y’all.
