A wonderful night was had by all at the inaugural Sonstrust Sportsman’s Dinner last night at SHS. The night was a sell out and raised a substantial amount for the YDI, more detail to follow. Everyone present enjoyed excellent food and entertaining speeches. On behalf of DFC and the YDI a sincere thanks to all connected with the event in particular Alan Findlay for the extraordinary efforts in making it such a successful night.

More details of the event will follow later.

I’d just like to echo what David Muir has said. It was a fantastic evening and the amount of hard work put in by the Sonstrust was there for all to see. The money raised will make a huge difference to the youth development programme which we all want to see go from strength to strength.

I have just had a long conversation with Patrick (Rolink) and he asked me to pass on his and Des McLean’s appreciation of the audience on Saturday. Des appreciated the way that people kept good order while he did his speech without a mic.

    It was a great night.
