The Sons Supporters Trust is delighted to announce further and continued investment in Dumbarton Football Club. With support of Trust members around the world, both financially and in our aim of responsible ownership, has enabled this latest investment in our Club.
A cheque for £6,000 was recently presented to DFC Chief Executive Gilbert Lawrie as part of our agreement to keep an elected representative on the football club board at Strathclyde Homes Stadium.
The payment represents an acceleration of 3-years worth of contributions and is something the Trust Board, given the healthy state of the Trust accounts, are happy to do.
Trust and DFC Commercial Director Stephen Lynch said : “The Sonstrust are committed to the future of Dumbarton FC. With more and more Scottish clubs recognising the value of supporter involvement in the boardroom, we will continue leading from the front.”
And commenting on the accelerated payment, Sons Chief Executive Gilbert Lawrie added : “I am sure I echo the views of The Board of Directors and all at the Club in that we are delighted to receive this accelerated payment from the Trust. Cashflow is important to any business and as such this payment will positively contribute to our close season plans both on and off the park”
